Liz Rogers is a cave diver and underwater photographer, with a keen interest in expedition and exploration photography. In a decade of advanced cave diving, Liz has taken underwater photographs in caves in every state of Australia. From the stunning sinkholes of South Australia, the remote Nullarbor Plains, the underground streamways up and down the East Coast of Australia, and the unexplored possibilities in Far North Queensland and tropical Timor, her portfolio includes images from an unseen freshwater world.
Carrying a large camera and multiple strobes on technical dives means estimating the size of the restriction before pushing the camera housing through, calculating f-stops alongside deco obligations, and learning to do everything else with one hand. For expeditions focussed on cave exploration, Liz has become experienced at nursing fragile and awkward loads down big pitches and through small crevices to reach the water. Capturing the moment means keeping up with cave divers hell-bent on exploration, all in search of images that convey what it felt like to be there.
Liz has had photos and articles published in Sport Diver, DAN's Alert Diver, National Geographic, the Weekend Australian and other major newspapers and dive publications in Australia and internationally. Her photos can be seen on her website, http://lizrogersphotography.com
